Chis-R For a decade I haven't worked out how to classify TToL or place them in a bucket - they always seem to stick out in my mind on their own little pedestal. I can't think of anyone who has the same style of technical musicianship as this incredible 4-piece. No Tether is truly a coming of age that blends pensive soundscapes with frenetic insanity. Favorite track: Binary Collapse.

AlexP I could comment on this album for hours, the music of what I dreamt about for a long time...absolute masterpiece…

jonny Lupsha Greetings from Washington DC! There’s no reason on God’s green Earth this album should be as good as it is, but it is. TToL’s tightest release since ‘Failed by Man and Machine.’ Frantic prog orchestrations, downtempo breathers between, with Ron Pollard’s mad genius piano, Ben Greene’s machine-gun drums, Paul Briggs’s ethereal guitar and Luke Pollard’s sinister backbone bass. ‘No Tether’ is progressive post-rock with hints of sludge metal, fury and melancholy. Buckle up. Favorite track: The Alarmist.
Alice M.

Alice M. Insane instrumental melting pot of styles, often reminding me of The Ocean with a faster pace, but with more relaxing tracks and sections too. Do me a favor and at least listen to the very first seconds of “Binary Collapse”. Favorite track: Binary Collapse.
Judy Humphries

Judy Humphries Grand, distinctive and imaginative instrumental post-rock. The delicately nuanced and introspective Inner Dissonance is an intriguing, stripped-back island emerging from the disturbing Signal Erosion, before subsiding into the chaotic boldness of Binary Collapse. The extended title track provides a dark and ominous finish to a beautifully crafted album. TTOL are at the top of their game here. Favorite track: Inner Dissonance.
Egg Wizard

Egg Wizard Watching this band destroy every touring band they've supported (bar two) during the 2010's has been frustrating to watch. Perth has the equivalent of Led Zeppelin living in the 'burbs and no-one knows. Finally distills their virtuosity and awe-inspiring sound into a tangible, repeatable listen that you can do at home. Instantly one of the best albums of 2018. Like an Ennio Morricone soundtrack of the recovery from a nervous breakdown. There's nothing else like this in the world.
Enjoy. Favorite track: Inner Dissonance.
